The greater season

“The glory of this latter temple shall be greater than the former,’ says the Lord of hosts.” -Haggai 2:9

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” -Proverbs 29:11

“And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.” -Galatians 6:9

“Life is about pressing and plowing forward. This is why there are so many passages in the scripture where God encourages us to keep believing, dreaming, plowing and pressing. Many passages in the scriptures speak of God prodding us to a GREATER season or blessing.  Many times we find ourselves stuck in a rut and frustrated with status quo. This can be true in many areas of our lives including the spiritual, physical, mental, financial part of our lives, and even our ministries. When Gideon was stuck in a rut and living in poverty (Judges 6), God went to him and moved him forward into his greater season by simply calling him a ‘mighty man of valor.’ God spoke to Joshua when he was mourning the death of his ‘mentor’ Moses and said, ‘Get up, for in three days you will cross over this Jordan’ (Joshua 1-3).  God, ‘Jesus’ moved Joshua towards his GREATER season simply by prodding him forward by His Word. God took Moses to the backside of the desert (Exodus 3) to speak to him.  Though Moses felt alone while caring for his father in-laws sheep, God used that time to move him forward into his destiny, into his GREATER season. God is the God of the ‘GREATER season, the new season.’ If you find yourself at a place in your life that may not be where you want it to be, God is preparing you for your greater season!  Just believe and trust. He moved Gideon, Joshua and Moses to their Greater season, He’ll move you to your GREATER SEASON too!”

God is working on our behalf… He wants nothing more than to bring us to that place that He so longs for us to be deeper engaged in His heart and purpose. This promise that God is leading us to greater places is a mandate. It requires a demanding obedience and desperate faith. It requires the fiery trials and necessary time of pruning. It requires the battle against the enemy and the plea for God’s strength. But He has not left us to do it alone! He is already doing so much more than we can see! He has already established the victory and He is always fighting for us. Why must we forget that our God is on our side? And just as David cried out to God, He was declaring the Lord’s promises over his life. The promise that GOD is our shield— HE is our defense. He holds our feet steady and lifts our head up. He hears from His holy throne in Heaven and answers with words of encouragement and love. He has not left us to fend for ourselves! His blessing has already gone out before us! We must walk in truth and walk in faith and hold on to the promise that whatever we are facing today, it is because He is leading us to greater places— He is taking us to the promise land.

God Is in the Rain

littlethingsaboutgod:

When God seems most absent, we can be assured that He is right here.

The human heart longs for company. The amazing thing is that, though sometimes quietly, our God is there to provide it no matter what the circumstances. He was in the rain. He was in the gallows. And He was in Naomi’s heart and actions as she knelt next to that little boy…
